Women in hats

When I was thinking about doing a new fun shoot with models, I came across a photo randomly with a woman in hat slightly peering out from the bill of the hat. My mind exploded with excitement and ideas. I found this photos alluring and sensual and I loved the feel of it. So I decided this was my next shoot style. I got my models and I prepped my lighting and background and got several bottles of wine ;) The day of the shoot was amazing, all the ladies came and talked and we had music playing. The feel of the room went from nervous to fun and relaxed, which made the shoot come to life. So with the outfits picked, the hair and makeup done, we were ready to shoot one at a time. I used my 18-140 lens on my Nikon D7100 camera so that I could get both distance and up close photos without moving too much. Considering I had a room full of women I wanted to take up the least amount of room as possible. During the shoot I adjusted the ladies as necessary and positioned them when needed. I tried to capture several angles, different lengths, and depth of field. I really liked shooting everyone and they all seemed pretty comfortable after the first couple of shots and everyone really brought something different to the table. This is why I love doing these shoots! I have had some people ask why I have everyone come at once and take photos while everyone is watching and around and heres why:

I think that in a world of technology and social media we become disconnected from one another. I love working with people and hearing their story and having that interaction. When you get women like these lovely ladies together you get a sense of who they are and you hear peoples opinions and thoughts. You get to hear everyone laugh and see them have a great time, and it becomes a time to socialize and connect with other ladies. Its also a time for me to meet and connect with professional women like hairdressers, makeup artists, and aspiring models. We all get to be together have fun and experience something. Im always so grateful to the ladies that come out and do these shoots with me, I always look back on them and feel great about it.
